Abstract:

Rapidly developing communication technology and the growing mobile-device user base have made today's society firmly dependent on wireless networking technologies.

In recent years, we can see many new exciting progress align the directions including cognitive radio networks, cooperative communication and networking, self-organized adaptive networking, delay tolerant networks, as well as sensor/RFID networks. Those new communication technologies bring significant opportunities for next-generation wireless networks. However, due to the disruptive nature of those new communications technologies, problems at the network and other upper layers are usually extremely challenging and call for new theories and algorithms.

In this panel, we would like to discuss the opportunities and challenges for next-generation wireless networks, especially with the impact of the above mentioned new technologies.
