Welcome to ICST QShine 2009

The Sixth International ICST Conference on Heterogeneous Networking for Quality, Reliability, Security and Robustness
Scope
Recent technological developments in wireless communications and mobile networks, broadband networks, pervasive computing, and distributed computing have led to a wide variety of new challenging problems. These include the provisioning of Quality of Service (QoS), survivability, resilience and scalability in a wide range of emerging applications and services over large-scale wired and wireless networks.
The Sixth International Conference on Heterogeneous Networking for Quality, Reliability, Security and Robustness (QShine 2009) will focus on the research challenges associated to the design and implementation of large-scale wired and wireless networks and distributed systems. The aim of this conference is to bring together research and practitioners to present and share the latest results in the areas of performance, configuration, cross-layer approaches, scalability, resilience and survivability of large scale heterogeneous networks and distributed systems. Following the tradition of the previous QShine meetings, QShine 2009 will feature prominent invited speakers as well as papers by top researchers in the field.
During the review process, all reviewers have to indicate whether the overall scientific quality of the paper
they reviewed entitles the paper to candidate for the Best Paper award. Among the best candidates,
the Program Chair and the General Chair select the Best Papers presented at QShine 2009.
The award is based on relevance, content, significance, originality and presentation.
Best Papers are rewarded with a Conference Best Paper Certificate.
Best Paper Award
The QShine 2009 Best Paper Award has been assigned to "Resource-Optimized Quality-Assured Ambiguous Context Mediation in Pervasive Environments" by Nirmalya Roy, Christine Julien and Sajal K. Das.
