The First International Workshop on Future Trends on Design and Analysis
for Dynamic Networks (FTDA-DN’08)
Hong Kong, China, 28 July 2008
in conjunction with Qshine 2008
http://www.qshine.org/workshops/IW_FTDA-DN_CFP.htm
Submission Deadline: May 18, 2008
***********************************************************************
Objective: This workshop aims as a forum for researchers working on the design modeling, analysis and performance evaluation of Dynamic Networks. Dynamic Networks can be characterized as networks subject to frequent changes in their structural or functional characteristics, or which are based on hybrid architectures that are supposed to cope with different classes of traffic or provide various classes of services. Examples of such networks are Wireless Ad hoc Networks (either Mobile (MANETs) or Vehicular (VANETs)), Mesh Networks and Sensor Networks; Differentiated services based Networking architectures; Hybrid Optical Network Architectures, etc. This Workshop will constitute a venue for these researchers to contrast their views of Dynamic Networks and discuss a common characterization and suitable tools for the design and analysis of such networks in view of the advances in wireless communication, Optical communication and sensor technologies among others.
Topics suggested to this workshop may include (not exclusively):
1. Dynamic Networks: Characterization, Design, Modeling and Performance Analysis
2. New Routing Techniques for Dynamic Networks: Polymorphic routing, Probabilistic routing, Content-based routing, partial information based routing, on demand probabilistic routing, proactive probabilistic routing, opportunistic routing, etc.
3. Dependability issues in Dynamic routing
4. Wireless, Mobile and Dynamic Network Architectures
5. Energy conservation, context awareness, resiliency in Dynamic Networks
6. Vital properties of Dynamic Networks: Services and Service discovery, self stabilization, self healing, self-organization and self-configuration.

Paper Submissions and Guidelines
--------------------------------
Authors are invited to submit manuscripts reporting original unpublished
research and recent developments in the topics related to the workshop.
Submissions should include an abstract, key words, the e-mail address of
the corresponding author. The length of the papers should be limited
to 6 pages in standard IEEE camera-ready format (double-column, 10-pt font)
with at most two additional pages with extra charge.
Submission of a paper should be regarded as a commitment, that in case
of paper acceptance, at least one of the authors will register and present
the work at the workshop.
All papers will be peer reviewed and the comments will be provided to
the authors. All accepted papers will be published in the workshop’s
proceedings.
Papers with distinguished contribution from the workshop will be considered
for fast-track journal publication along with the selected papers
from the Qshine conference (see http://www.qshine.org/cfp.shtml for more details).
